New Added specific error messages on connection/login failures to Config Mgmt Portal and in several other operations that communicate with our servers (for example the “Invalid Credentials” message can alert you, so you don’t get the “IP banned; too many invalid login attempts! Please contact support…” message!) These specific error messages were introduced a few builds prior, but were available only when registering the app for the first time, causing things like running from the d7xRDT […]
Today was a minor update which should hopefully resolve some uncommon behavior where a few people reported not being able to save FTP config settings for self-hosted usage, specifically the settings were wiped when shutting down/restarting d7x. Additionally the Malware Search Tool and it’s definitions update check still reported defs from 2016 were current, despite the recent update on August 8th, 2018. This occurred unless you deleted an older d7II_Updates.ini file from the .\Modules directory. […]
If you are a paid user of dSupportSuite, you know it’s been quite a while since there was an update to the client software beyond a digital certificate update. Finally, since d7x has been out for a while and is proven to be working great, we’ve began to move the dSupportSuite client software to the d7x Platform code. We have the client software (main executable dSupportSuite.exe and BootSafe.exe) on the d7x Platform code, and while […]
New: Added Windows 10 build number to the OS display (e.g. Build 1803) FTP over SSL is now available to Self-Hosted users, including both Implicit and Explicit SSL support. (d7x Cloud users were transitioned to SSL a few releases back.) New FTP setting “AutoFix” to ensure standard server settings/ports when using SSL. Be sure to disable if using non-standard ports, especially with Implicit or Explicit SSL. Changes/Fixes: Newer d7x based FTP code has replaced […]
New: Config -> Behavior tab -> Updates section -> Create d7x.cmd button. This creates a ‘d7x.cmd’ which can be used to start d7x consistently by using the same filename. This is convenient when creating a shortcut or using another script to start d7x after an update is processed that would give d7x a new versioned filename (e.g. ‘d7x vX.X.X.X.exe’) Fix: Fonts that formerly displayed in bold (e.g. in the alerts column of the System Info […]
The new d7x “Single Pay” license is an upgrade for your d7x Annual or the new 1, 3, and 5 Year term subscription terms, which includes all standard functionality during the license term, yet also allows full usage of d7x functionality after the license term has expired (but does not include support, updates, or hosted cloud access after the term expiration.) Please note that the d7x “Single Pay” license usage out of standard term does require […]
For the most part, look for Self-Hosted FTP and Email/SMTP functionality changes, fixes, and improvements as they are switched to the new d7x code platform, with the exception of reports storage for FTP. There was a bit more but it didn’t make the list because I didn’t write it down, and it was kinda minor because I can’t recall at the moment… What comes next is finishing the move to d7x code for FTP reports […]
KillEmAll v5 was released without the internal logic required to avoid terminating a critical Windows system file “fontdrvhost.exe” which is in part responsible for the rendering of text based graphics displayed in various areas of many programs running on Windows 10. Problem: When terminated by KillEmAll, you will notice corrupted display of text, or no display of text, in all affected programs. Text is displayed properly again only after restarting Windows. Note for PC technicians using […]
If you’ve seen news of the recent update for the dSupportSuite client software, you might want to roll out an update to your customers! If you didn’t purchase dSupportSuite early on (pre-2014) then self-hosting an FTP server is required for usage, and if you did you may have migrated an older dCloud deployment to self-hosted FTP. If you fall into either of the above categories (as most dSupportSuite owners should) then your customers will NOT receive […]
A emergency dSupportSuite client software update was released in order to resolve an issue with Windows 10 update to build 1803. This particular Windows update caused dSS triggered maintenance tasks to fail immediately after starting. No error message should be visible to the user, but a failure to run dSupportSuite.exe will be found in Windows event logs. This dSupportSuite client software update resolves the issue with Windows build 1803 by updating the digital certificate used […]
