Expect changes to include the name appearing on your credit/bank statements for product purchases, which as of today, April 25th 2018 should become “d7xTech/Foolish IT” (or “d7xTech.com” if only 11 characters are allowed.) The longer version will change to the shorter “d7xTech.com” in the future, once we’re confident most of our customers on recurring billing […]
We deeply regret to announce the discontinuation of CryptoPrevent’s free edition. When CryptoPrevent first began in 2013, it was a unique and effective product aimed at stopping a new and unique threat, and as the years have passed the free edition has been invaluable not only to the protection of countless users, but also to […]
Over the next few weeks (or longer) we’ll be changing our name from “Foolish IT” to “d7x Technology” so don’t be alarmed, the makers of d7x and CryptoPrevent are not changing… it’s still us! Expect changes to include everything from website branding and domain name to the name appearing on your credit/bank statements for purchases […]
We will be undergoing website maintenance on Saturday, March 31st between the hours of 1-6pm EDT. Expect that the website may or may not be accessible (in part or entirely) during this time-frame. We will repost when the site is available again. Our other web presences such as the support queue, billing/invoice access, IRC, download […]
d7x v184.108.40.206 and above are required for future updates; older versions will not recognize update availability.
This morning we released d7x v220.127.116.11 (yay!) just as it became obvious that existing versions will not update, and most any d7xRDT packages will also fail to download or launch d7x. If you have d7x v18.104.22.168 or above, your copy should update to today’s release without issue; not so with any previous releases. * d7x […]
As many CryptoPrevent users may be aware, “vssadmin.exe” is a setting automatically enabled with the “default” protection plan, which blocks any usage of this file. This setting prevents launch of the vssadmin.exe file via SRP (aka Software Restriction Policies) a built-in Windows mechanism of controlling what is and is not allowed on a PC, although it is only […]
We have now corrected recent download failure issues from our end. We apologize for the trouble, and thank you for your understanding! ISSUE: Download failures resulting in errors such as “HTTP 500”, “ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE”, and “This site can’t be reached”. SCOPE: Affected all downloads using encrypted download links (ending in “/?enc_dl_action=process&file=” with some additional random characters) which […]
d7II subscribers will notice their copy of d7II v3.6.86 (or earlier) now promotes that an update exists to v3.6.87 (there is no actual code change for this specific .exe version; the version number is incremented to silence d7II update notifications if used after this d7x release.)
d7x v0.0.0.90 just released adds Windows 10 to custom app platform/OS restriction settings. If not configured, behavior should not change. Backwards compatibility note: This is the only area in d7x configurations where d7II may (and likely will) erase the setting entirely when used to edit the same custom app configuration. Although we’re not looking to add […]
d7x (Alpha) September Update for d7II subscribers – Latest update includes a NEW d7x Remote Deployment Tool (d7II SFX Mini), a NEW Config Mgmt Portal, and more for testing!
This latest d7x Alpha “TestBuild” replaces the “d7IIx Alpha” versions opened to all d7II subscribers in March. We believe this release can be tested with confidence in a production environment, provided you keep d7II with you as a backup. d7x Alpha is designed to sit beside d7II in the same folder, and maintains backwards compatibility with […]
