New addition to d7x Tools > Malware Search Tool: the Scheduled Tasks tab. Use this tab to display all scheduled tasks on the system, including all tasks buried in subfolders, after whitelisting has been applied to block known good entries from display, so you only see what is remaining. Whitelisting, Enabling, Disabling, and Deleting tasks in bulk is supported. Note this functionality does nothing on Windows XP, and is not available when Malware Search Tool […]
You can now start d7x itself, KillEmAll, and Malware Search Tool (d7x Tools tab) as TrustedInstaller, a step up from the Local System user as far as bypassing file system and registry permissions (Local System was the previous option.) d7x functionality and Custom Apps as configured to run under the Local System account will now run under the TrustedInstaller account. Tweak ‘Disable Cortana’ has been updated for Windows 10 version 2004 to remove the auto-start […]
Added the ability to map network drives when starting a new d7x session! Visit the d7x Config > Session > Session Paths/Files to configure up to 3 network drives to map. These drive mappings will automatically be removed during End Session. Added new registry startup locations to the ‘Registry Inspection > Run/RunOnce Values’ function in the d7xTools > Malware Search Tool. Specifically Run, Run32, and StartupFolder located under SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StartupApproved\ in HKLM and HKCU, with the […]
This was a pretty good update for both new capabilities and fixes. New/Changed: d7x will now run directly from write-protected media, rather than copying itself to the local OS drive. Obviously any desired settings changes will not be saved successfully, but everything should function as expected; please report any issues to support! Added new features “Run as TrustedInstaller” and “Run as Basic User (De-Elevate)” to the Run menu > Run Program dialog. Note: I’ve noticed […]
Do you prefer to use certain programs over Microsoft’s default offerings? If so, you probably have run into the issue of having your preferred program defaults reset to Microsoft Windows defaults. Default Programs Manager is a small program that provides two options: Save your current program default settings Restore your saved program default settings Head over to the main page to download it!
Added tweaks: Functionality > Windows Update > Disable Driver Updates (prevent Windows Update from installing drivers) Functionality > Maintenance > Enable Automatic Registry Backup (this enables registry backups to \Windows\System32\config\RegBack, a feature that was disabled in Windows 10 1809) Misc > Error Handling > Enable Classic Blue Screen of Death Update: The Add ‘Command Prompt Here’ to Right-Click menu tweak has been expanded to not only add to the background in Explorer, but also to folders […]
New Tweak: Enable DNS over HTTPS (Requires Windows 10 build 19628 and compatible DNS servers e.g. Cloudflare or Google.) New Command Line Argument: /NiniteProfile=[AutoModeProfileName] used to automate Ninite Pro Classic silently. Previously the /d7f=74 would fire the Ninite functionality but it failed without being able to specify a profile, so the new switch replaces that entirely. We don’t have a Ninite Pro Classic account to test with currently, so this functionality is UNTESTED, so if […]
Complete redesign of the “Tweaks” tab, now separating most tweaks by function rather than OS, with a focus on Windows 10 tweaks Most tweaks (all except File Sharing/Networking and a few Obscure tweaks) now update with a shaded in checkbox when the tweak has been applied successfully. Added granular “Power Plan” tweaks for Screen, Disk, Sleep, and Hibernate timeout values (e.g. 5 minutes), rather than the old options to simply disable the timeouts. Added the […]

Add a “Command Prompt Here” option to your right-click/context menu in Windows Explorer and on the Desktop, which of course opens cmd.exe and changes path to the current directory in Windows Explorer. The option did already exist if you held the SHIFT key down when right-clicking the background of Windows Explorer, but this was replaced by PowerShell in Windows 10; and besides, you had to hold down SHIFT (with this .reg addition, you do not.)
