d7x v20.6.6 Release Notes
- You can now start d7x itself, KillEmAll, and Malware Search Tool (d7x Tools tab) as TrustedInstaller, a step up from the Local System user as far as bypassing file system and registry permissions (Local System was the previous option.)
- d7x functionality and Custom Apps as configured to run under the Local System account will now run under the TrustedInstaller account.
- Tweak ‘Disable Cortana’ has been updated for Windows 10 version 2004 to remove the auto-start entry for the new Cortana app.
- New Tweak User Interface/Explorer (File View) > ‘No Removable Drives in Navigation Pane’ will prevent removable drives from showing up in as duplicates in the left hand navigation pane of Windows Explorer.
- Some misc. under the hood work, notably one issue was addressed that caused d7x to perform slowly after it had been running for long periods of time doing while doing absolutely nothing.
- d7x’s module ETS.EXE is no longer used by d7x, but may remain bundled with the modules for a time.
- Improved CTRL+R/Run > Run Program dialog:
- All run modes now allow you to either capture the app’s Exit Code or run inside CMD.EXE.
- Implemented new internal code for ‘Run as System User’ and ‘Run as TrustedInstaller’ that does not rely on calling external EXEs, so the speed has increased quite a bit.
- Fixed a bug in the CTRL+R/Run > Run Program dialog, the option ‘Run as Basic User (De-Elevate)’ would fail unless you supplied command line arguments. Note this option will fail if running d7x as the System user.
