Added repair "Re-register Start Menu for All Users" to repair certain issues with the Windows 10 start menu. Added tweak to uninstall the built-in OneDrive on current builds of Windows 10 (with undo/install.) Several minor improvements to the KillEmAll > Remove Programs tab, like automatically checking blacklisted items and displaying a "please wait" status box when gathering program data. Some dialog boxes from KillEmAll displayed with grayed out buttons even though they worked as expected;...
New Custom App option to delete files/directories in the Post-Execution section. This uses KillEmAll style rule variables. This is used in the new ESET Smart Installer custom app to remove the desktop shortcut left behind by running the portable app. The tweak "Remove '3D Objects' from 'This PC'" under Tweaks > Interface/Explorer was not auto-detecting when applied; fixed. Misc minor tweaks and fixes.
Just incase you missed the last year of updates, I've put together a short-ish video with a few of the highlights. Click here for the details and all release notes. https://youtu.be/_WUx7UzjN4I
New tweaks: Misc Tweaks tab > Windows Defender \ Disable Warning for Non-Microsoft User Account Functionality tab > Windows Update \ Disable P2P 'Delivery Optimization' Functionality tab > Classic Functionality \ Show Command Prompt instead of PowerShell Interface/Explorer tab > (bottom left) \ Disable Adding 'Shortcut to ' to Shortcuts Clicking to change an auto mode profile no longer (re)loads the same profile if you don't actually select a different profile than is already selected....
New addition to d7x Tools > Malware Search Tool: the Scheduled Tasks tab. Use this tab to display all scheduled tasks on the system, including all tasks buried in subfolders, after whitelisting has been applied to block known good entries from display, so you only see what is remaining. Whitelisting, Enabling, Disabling, and Deleting tasks in bulk is supported. Note this functionality does nothing on Windows XP, and is not available when Malware Search Tool...
You can now start d7x itself, KillEmAll, and Malware Search Tool (d7x Tools tab) as TrustedInstaller, a step up from the Local System user as far as bypassing file system and registry permissions (Local System was the previous option.) d7x functionality and Custom Apps as configured to run under the Local System account will now run under the TrustedInstaller account. Tweak 'Disable Cortana' has been updated for Windows 10 version 2004 to remove the auto-start...
Added the ability to map network drives when starting a new d7x session! Visit the d7x Config > Session > Session Paths/Files to configure up to 3 network drives to map. These drive mappings will automatically be removed during End Session. Added new registry startup locations to the 'Registry Inspection > Run/RunOnce Values' function in the d7xTools > Malware Search Tool. Specifically Run, Run32, and StartupFolder located under SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StartupApproved\ in HKLM and HKCU, with the...
This was a pretty good update for both new capabilities and fixes. New/Changed: d7x will now run directly from write-protected media, rather than copying itself to the local OS drive. Obviously any desired settings changes will not be saved successfully, but everything should function as expected; please report any issues to support! Added new features "Run as TrustedInstaller" and "Run as Basic User (De-Elevate)" to the Run menu > Run Program dialog. Note: I've noticed...
