D7 Feedback – what NOT to do…
I love feedback and suggestions, and I try to accommodate everyone who writes in to me, not just donors 😉 I can dig up a long list of helpful suggestions and feedback that I’ve always responded to and/or tried to incorporate into D7 as my limited time and my limited abilities permit… however…
What I don’t like, are DEMANDS IN CAPS, especially when you are too much of a moron to visit the config to do what you are after (and then you wouldn’t need to send feedback anyway). Now I’m aware that not everyone is familiar with all the options in D7 Config… But please, don’t demand a feature be disabled by default that you can damn well turn off yourself.
In fact, if you use free software, you shouldn’t be making any demands to the software author at all. It is a privilege to use any free software, granted to you by the author, and if you don’t like it, don’t use it!!!
I’m writing this because I received a demand from an ass named Kenneth. I’ll leave the last name out to protect the software-challenged. This pimple on the ass of humanity writes to demand that I remove the features in D7 of enabling hidden files view on start up, and disabling them on close – because as he puts it, software shouldn’t make changes that weren’t requested. (ahem, you config D7, you use D7, so in effect you requested the changes…)
Regardless, what perplexes me is this idiot’s ability to boast. He states he is a software engineer with 45 years experience, as if that is supposed to mean something to me… So should I be impressed, or saddened that despite his supposed experience, in his old age he is so senile he cannot use a simple app…
My point is, this guy didn’t get help from me. And if you write in boasting your bogus experience and qualifications and demand I do things a certain way, then you won’t get help either.
Aside from that, if anyone feels that the hidden files changes when starting and shutting down D7 should be disabled by default, that’s an entirely different matter. I am open to feedback on this (or much of anything else) from anyone but the a fore mentioned loser.
Just remember when writing to me, try not to be churlish if you want to get anywhere with me.
