New feature: User can now view event log alerts recorded by dSS through the main interface and choose to email the errors logged directly to the admin when the new setting is enabled (Config > Notifications > View Errors Link.) When errors are recorded but have not been sent to the admin (in real-time) the View Errors link will appear next to the RED BALL in the main user interface. The email event log alerts […]
Added ability to create virtual hard disk images both to a new tab in d7x, the Data Backup > Disk Imaging (Create VHD) tab which can be used to create images manually, as well as adding them as d7x internal functions so they can be automatically run as part of any Auto Mode. Create VHD or VHDX images using Disk2VHD from Sysinternals, which is fully compatible with Windows 8-11’s “Mount” feature in Windows Explorer, as […]
Download the latest KillEmAll here. Added additional internal whitelisting for newer Windows 10/11 based components. Implemented a [Press ‘D’ for debug, or any other key to start…] prompt when initially starting KillEmAll, which appears unless you are passing command line arguments or holding down special keys. Tweaked the way command line arguments work due to the new prompt; now /auto is required along with /log to run completely automatically and log to a file. Removed […]
Added “Search & Indexing” shortcuts to the Windows dropdown menu. Added two new d7x Functions to Reset and/or just Rebuild the Windows Search Index. The functions are identical except the “Reset” variation will also cause the Search service to rebuild its settings as well as the index. This of course fixes issues with Windows Search Service and that affects other apps like OneNote and Outlook. Searching for a d7x Function (e.g. on the d7x Tools […]
CHANGE: Loading an Auto Mode profile that had any Tweaks tab options saved with a shaded in checkbox (neither checked nor unchecked) will now load the saved setting to the checked state, whereas previously it would load as unchecked. Shaded in checkboxes are only displayed when detecting the tweak’s current state as being enabled, therefore applying the tweak is unnecessary and would be skipped. Fixed an issue on the Tweaks > Power Plan tab where […]
Added Windows Feature Experience Pack version info to the System Info report in Windows 10/11. It will also now display if you hover the mouse over the Windows version info in the top ribbon of d7x. Fixed several issues with the d7x Config > Admin tab > d7x License Data prompt when your license is based on an older d7II product key. First the prompt was not displaying existing license data, and second although it […]
Added “Sleep Study” to the Audit/Diagnose tab > Generate Reports column. This creates a “SleepStudy_Report.html” using powercfg.exe to generate a diagnostic system power transition report. Added “Current Power Requests” to the Audit/Diagnose tab > Generate Reports column. This creates a “Current_Power_Requests.txt” using powercfg.exe to display power requests which prevent the computer from automatically powering off the display or entering a low-power sleep mode. When manually double-clicking to generate any report on the Audit/Diagnose tab > […]
The work report should no longer develop undesired spacing between lines. (Previously, switching to the reports tab in between activities would cause an extra newline character to be added to the work report HTML.) The work report description should now show the display name of uninstalled Store Apps (when found) in addition to the package name.
Fixed an issue in KillEmAll where in some cases removing old definition entries didn’t work, they would re-populate immediately after removal. Fixed an issue where ANY changes (including additions) in KillEmAll definitions were being overwritten with previous definitions if the KillEmAll window was closed before the main d7x window was closed. Fixed KillEmAll previously displayed a tray notification that 0 programs were terminated despite how many actually were, even though the correct number appeared in […]
Added a “Display Name” column to the Uninstall tabs for Store Apps, however it will remain blank when the display name is localized. Some apps (such as Cortana) now display that name in addition to the package name “Microsoft.549981C3F5F10”. Now when clicking on an installed App or Store App on the Uninstall tabs, it will search 1st level subdirectories for EXE or DLL files when none are found in the app’s main directory in order […]
