…and MORE!
d7 is not the malware scanner or remover, YOU are. YOU control it’s behavior by whitelist/blacklist functionality, and by your own pair of hopefully good eyeballs. d7’s MalwareScan functionality is designed to show you what d7 doesn’t recognize, by whitelisting known good items, and automatically deleting known bad items. d7’s MalwareScan merely shows you what is left after the whitelisting/blacklisting is applied. From there, you have the option to whitelist, blacklist, delete, rename, ignore, google, or whatever you want with the results.
Included with d7 are some sample whitelists (no blacklists.) It’s up to you to decide if you should use them and add to them, or delete them and create your own.
PORTABLE USE: d7 is a fully portable application, however there are some considerations for those who define “portable” very strictly, and you may wish to visit the SETUP section in the online manual, to read the PORTABLE USAGE NOTES.
d7 is NOT an “End User” solution
THIS TOOL IS INTENDED FOR EXPERIENCED PC TECHNICIAN USAGE ONLY. It is NOT for anyone without a good working knowledge of the Windows OS and how it functions (not just how to use it…) This tool can be destructive when the user is inexperienced in advanced or manual malware removal techniques when using related functionality.
Adding confusion to the issue, d7 doesn’t have many functions explained or phrased very well, which is difficult when space for a description is an issue. Even techs working together in the same repair shop don’t always call the same ‘routine’ by the same name, so techs from different shops, cities, and countries have quite different terms for certain things and misinterpreting something could be an issue. Therefore, if you are unsure of anything please consult our manual, or just ask! Although we do NOT provide support for d7 Premium free licenses, we will discuss d7 phrasing and terminology anytime on our live show here so hop in the IRC if you have any questions, and feel free to leave your question even if we aren’t around at that particular time, and we’ll be able to get to it on the next show.

Usage Scenarios:
- d7x is primarily a toolbox (intended to be a starting point for any maintenance, repair, or system assessment), a checklist (to keep up with what you’re doing), and an automation utility where possible (to keep the flow moving with as little user interaction as possible.)
- d7x really shines where one might use it to keep up with multiple system repairs on a bench or a multiple remote sessions at once type scenario. Either that, or when you’re working on one system/remote session, but you are doing OTHER THINGS at the same time, this is where d7x shines as it frees your time for other tasks. This can even be useful when repairing a system and spending time with a client, explaining things to them while repairs move on in the background powered by your branded copy of d7x.
- d7x can be extremely useful on one system at a time too (either in person/bench or during remote support) in very specific situations like doing data backup or repairing broken Windows updates or similar using built-in repair and other functionality.
- d7x provides a number of useful utilities for techs that “manually” work on systems too, giving you access to convenient right-click file system options for running files with certain arguments and/or in a System/TrustedInstaller context, open an admin/TrustedInstaller command prompt in that directory with a single click, upload a file quickly to VirusTotal to check a result, examine a file for other issues, search the internet or even the Windows Registry for file details, or simply to delete files/directories with logging so you know what you’ve done.
- d7x can be used from a WinPE based boot CD/USB drive to perform certain repairs, and tasks, and even malware removal on ‘offline’ Windows installations that maybe do not boot or boot to malware infestations.
- d7x can be used to create basic system information reports containing items like system specs, Windows/Office product keys, (optionally) wireless network and even email passwords, mapped network drives/shared network folders, installed printers, battery details, etc. etc. which some people email to their ticket system to automatically create tickets or appened to existing ones (e.g. PC Repair Tracker or RepairShopr).
- d7x can be used by MSPs to deploy remote automated maintenance routines to systems, optionally emailing back to the tech a report on what was done or even containing other system information as gathered by d7x.
- d7x also includes dSupportSuite which many businesses install on a customer’s system to leave as a digital business card branded with your company logos, optionally allowing the customer to run their own maintenance, fix basic internet problems, email you for support, or start your remote support app (or Windows 10’s new Quick Assist.)

Subscriber Comments
I just have to say this [d7x] is the best tool around. It should be in every one’s toolkit.
d7x Licensing
- Because d7x is designed to allow technicians to work on multiple PCs at once (without missing a step and maintaining consistent results) licensing is per company, per user (NOT per-PC/etc.) therefore one user license allows use of the software simultaneously on as many PCs as the user wishes.
- d7x is a subscription which can be purchased on automated renewal (default) or manual renewal, but it can also be purchased as a ‘perpetual’ type license (Single-Pay) which can be used forever but has expiring updates, cloud usage, and support. Scroll down for all other options just below the main pricing.
- d7x Subscriptions allow all usage, support, updates, and hosted cloud access for the subscription term with one user license.
- Monthly Subscription Plans are a great opportunity to try out d7x without a long-term commitment, plus your account can easily be transferred to an Annual Subscription Plan any time down the road!
