The Search box on the d7x Tools tab was performing subsequent searches by searching inside the previous search results only. Now it will reset the list to search all content for subsequent searches without having to hit the Reset button, which you would have had to do before to observe the same behavior. Now this search box behavior matches that of the Config > Custom Apps tab. Also, a number of custom apps were...
Searching for default/user apps in a custom app list box (e.g. on the d7x Tools tab) now matches your search term against the folder name the app is stored in (as well as the app name and short description which is all that was previously searched.) This is great news for people who were searching for “nirsoft” in the search box and turning up no results in previous d7x versions (when there were always tons...
d7x Config Date setting is now YEAR FIRST by default for new configs; this will not change existing configurations however. Date/Time columns on the various Uninstall tabs now conform to d7x settings, so you may want to ensure you are using YEAR FIRST formatting in d7x Config > Behavior tab, Regional Settings on the bottom left so your lists sort properly. Fixed an issue saving Uninstall/Delete tab definitions tabs: when removing all entries from a...
Improved d7x CPU Stress Utility, which was previously taking over a minute or more to ramp up CPU to 100% (depending on the number of cores/threads) and the UI would freeze while it was ramping up; now the process is near instant. Also added a CPU % usage display.
Fixed an intermittent issue loading offline registry hives into the local registry for use with Regedit and various other d7x functionality.
New config option: “Add Exclusions to Windows Defender for d7x Paths” will add exclusions for the d7x path (including the 3rd party tools path) when starting a new session. Exclusions will be removed during End Session. Enabled by default, you can disable via Config > Behavior/Updates > General Behavior section, next to “Disable Windows Defender…” Obviously this option is most useful if you wish to leave Windows Defender enabled.
Fixed an issue with the last few releases not displaying the specifics (in the lower details area) for alerts on the System Info tab. Fixed an issue with d7x not unloading offline registry hives after it is done with them. Fixed a few issues after a WMI/WBEM/DCOM repair where d7x thought that the internet was disconnected, and it also thought systems with a battery were always on battery power. Of course these issues cleared up...
Added d7x function “Reset OneDrive” to fix sync issues with OneDrive. The function will locate OneDrive, terminate the process, run OneDrive.exe /reset and then restart OneDrive to fix sync issues. This is a great addition to your repair tab, perhaps maintenance as well, or especially for those d7xRDT automated maintenance deployments (this is function number 135.) Added new config setting under Behavior > Regional (bottom left) to “Use 24 Hour Time Format” in various date/time...
Fixed a problem with extra/unnecessary custom app downloads when there are two apps of the same app, but with different full app names due to parentheses (e.g. “PatchMyPC” and “PatchMyPC (Auto)” were previously treated as two different apps by d7x download code, now they will both be treated as a single download with regard to the re-download settings for each of the custom apps.) Note all Emsisoft a2cmd configs were updated to follow the above...
v21.10.12.3 – Added custom app ability to run “.appref-ms” files in the main custom app/exe field. Also updated custom apps including Microsoft SaRA. v21.10.12.2 – When clicking on Custom Apps in a list box the app description in the lower details pane is now followed by the app file version and last download date (if already downloaded of course.) v21.10.12.1 – Custom App RapydMark was not running on some systems without the VC++ 2017 Runtimes...
