In order to use your own SMTP server for d7x email functionality, be sure to fill out the server settings completely as specified in the d7x Config. See below for common server settings.
If you are concerned about your email settings being stored by d7x, the credentials are encrypted in your d7x configuration to keep prying eyes from viewing them. Also whether you use our server or your own self-hosted FTP server for d7x configuration storage, if you even use this feature at all, then your config is always SHA256 encrypted with your own technician password when transmitted and stored on either server. You may wish to review the d7x Privacy Policy for more information.

d7x Internal Mail Server
NEW: As of d7x v21.2.x.x, it is no longer required to configure your own SMTP server to send email, but you may still wish to do so for reasons of privacy (consider that email functionality can be used to send detailed system reporting information.) If you choose to use d7x internal mail, you should know that any information transmitted will remain on d7xTech email servers until it is manually deleted. You may wish to review the d7x Privacy Policy for more information.
In order to use d7x internal mail, you should leave the SMTP server settings blank in d7x Config, and ensure “Use Internal Mail = True” under your Email Settings (this is default.) If your SMTP server settings are filled out, whether they work properly or not, they will be used regardless of the ‘Use Internal Mail’ setting. Your d7x subscriber account must also be active to use d7x internal mail (you must have an active recurring subscription, d7x SinglePay licensing does not qualify unless you are within your initial subscriber term.)
